Membership Terms and Conditions
Conduct in the Bar
The Whisky Club is first and foremost a social space where we encourage our members to get to know each other and benefit from a community of like-minded whisky enthusiasts. Please treat the bar and our guests with respect. Rude, rowdy or drunken behaviour will not be tolerated, we reserve the right to revoke membership, refuse service and/or ask you to leave the bar at our discretion in any instances of antisocial behaviour.
Discounts for Members – Non-Members don’t get discount
The 10% members discount is exclusively a perk of your membership and can only be used in line with your own individual drinks and tickets. The discount does not extend to any friends and non-members.
Any other discounts The Whisky Club may choose to offer at any time are at our discretion.
As we are approaching a waiting list for memberships. All new, and renewal, membership fees must be paid within one week of being invoiced. After which point the membership will be released and our waiting list notified of availability.
Bottle keep invoices must be paid within a week of the invoice date. No bottle will be purchased until payment has been received.
Events and attendance
Our membership packages are intended to bring together Birmingham’s whisky community. The bar, events and activities are all geared towards facilitating the regular meet up of likeminded individuals in a nice space. We are keen that our members attend the bar regularly and take advantage of the events we coordinate, members who rarely pay us a visit may not be granted a membership renewal on the basis that we would offer the membership to one of our waiting list of regulars wishing to join the Club as a member.
Should you have reserved a place at one of our free members events only to be unable to attend we request that you contact us a minimum of 24 hours to let us know of your non-attendance. We understand that life gets in the way but failure to do so twice could result in your membership code being de-activated for free tickets in order to ensure other members get priority and don’t miss out.
The Whisky Club events do not cater for dietary requirements. Food pairings designed to go with the whiskies will be listed in our event information, if you have an allergy we request that you notify us ahead of the event, so we can advise you how to avoid contamination. A replacement pairing cannot be guaranteed, and we would recommend that you avoid booking onto any event where there is risk of allergic reaction.
Bottle Keep 2019 Terms and Conditions:
The Bottle Keep is only available to ‘Cask Strength’ members.
There will now be three Bottle Keep purchase dates each year. These will be announced by Amy in the monthly newsletter as well as the members Facebook page.
Members can purchase one bottle at a time on these dates.
There is no limit to how expensive the whisky of your choice can be.
All bottles must be purchased through Master of Malt, please go on their website to select your chosen whisky and let Amy know.
There is a 20% service charge on all bottle keeps.
Amy will send over an invoice prior to the purchase date, this must be paid by the agreed deadline. If payment is not received in time your order will not be placed and you will need to wait for the next bottle keep purchase date to be released.
The bottle will be kept safely in our locked glass cabinet with your name on a tag tied to the neck of the bottle. It is yours to enjoy at The Whisky Club and there is no limit to how much of your bottle you can enjoy in any one sitting, however please drink responsibly. Please also be aware that there are only three bottle keep opportunities per year so you may wish to have a little at a time in order to make it last!
